Our second 45 release is soon upon us! This time we've headed back to the West Coast…and the Central Valley in particular. Al Garcia would release three singles on his own Velpa label starting in 1969 from his home in East Bakersfield, CA. His group The Rhythm Kings (which included his brother Manny on drums), had already been playing together for nearly a decade. And they would continue playing locally all the way up until 2020!
We've taken our favorite tracks from two of them and put them on one 45 so they can be enjoyed by all. A double dose of some the finest examples of Chicano Soul ever put to wax!
